A little over a month ago, the Meraki Garden, located in the small outdoor space between the IT hallway and the Behavioral Health Unit at the hospital, opened for employee use.

What started as a simple idea has blossomed into a daily retreat for both patients and employees, offering what some lovingly refer to as a little “dirt therapy.”

Many people provided their time, materials, and talent for this project to come to fruition. And with their contributions, they ended up planting more than just flowers… they planted hope.
Franklin Building Supply (Tristen) – Lumber & Building Materials
Todd Gambles – Design & Build
Ace Hardware Rigby (Crystal) – Soil
Charlie Cromar – Build & Installation
Ace Hardware Rexburg (Ben) – Flowers, Vegetables & Herbs
Perhaps the most recognition, however, goes to Hayden Thorngren with the Behavioral Health Unit. Hayden is an incredible nurse, visionary, and human being. She personally designed, planned, and led the entire project, with all of her heart and soul. Because of Hayden, the Meraki Garden will continue to uplift and inspire us for many years to come.
